What would you think if I told you that the next great Disney princess was going to be in Star Wars VII? What if that princess wasn't actually a hero, but a villain? Her name is Aphra and she is the next big thing from Star Wars, Marvel and Disney. I can't believe this is happening, but it's crazy how fast the First Appearance of Aphra is flying off the shelves and disappearing from E-Bay.
Why is this a big deal? Well, it's been a long, long time since a new character was introduced in the Star Wars universe. With Disney owning Marvel and Star Wars, plus bringing a whole slew of new Star Wars films to the big screen, this seems like a calculated move to many collectors. Add in a few evil droids with names very familiar to Star Wars fans, plus a really cool cover and an even cooler variant and you have a recipe for hotness.

I saw the same thing happen with the variant for Edge of The Spider-Verse 2 variant and I've regretted passing it up. I may even be too late for this one, but I'm going to give it a shot.

Variant copies of CGC 9.8 Darth Vader #3, the 1st appearance of Aphra are starting to hit eBay. I still think something is up with this character and looking around the bowels of the Internet I see several mentions that she will make an appearance in Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens. Again, I'm not saying the story centers around her, but this could be interesting for speculators.
Are you suggested that star wars vii story is going to center around a 50year-old princess? end of new hope, approx.1980 assume she’s 15yr old, plus 35years. Aphra would currently be 50years-old.
Hey Jared,
Thanks for dropping by and taking the time to comment. I’m not saying Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens is going to center around Aphra. But I do believe that Disney knows what they are doing, especially when it comes to pulling in untapped markets to their products. They especially know the female market and are exploring it very heavily in Marvel Comics. They are having a lot of success I might add. Everything they are doing right now is calculated and I feel this is no different. Why else take the time to devote a whole issue of Darth Vader to an unknown Female Character?
I’m not sure where she is going to be in the movies, but my gut tells me she is going to play a part in this universe at some point. Who knows, it may even be in one of the stand alone movies between 7, 8 and 9.
On a side note, did you see the recent casting announcement for Jessica Henwick? IMDB still doesn’t have her character name listed but she reminds me of Aphra.
